Special Issue Call for Papers

This special issue of International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (https://www.amcs.uz.zgora.pl) on Computational Intelligence in Data Mining and Machine Learning deals with the importance of computational intelligence (CI) paradigms in data mining and knowledge discovery.

Scope of the Issue

The issue focuses on various techniques of computational intelligence including hybrid methods. Application of these techniques is today considered as a key success factor in processing big data sets, designing decision support systems, mining data streams and recognizing patterns in big data. Majority of papers in this issue concerns methods of knowledge representation using different techniques, namely the rough sets, fuzzy sets, Bayesian networks, multi-agent systems etc. Next various neural network architectures are presented and their learning algorithms are derived. Moreover, the family of evolutionary algorithms is discussed, in particular the classical genetic algorithm, evolutionary strategies and genetic programming, including connections between these techniques and neural networks and fuzzy systems. Finally the bio-inspired techniques like ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization and others are presented and combined in solutions of different data mining tasks.
