University Authorities and Outgoing Mayor of Gdynia in Meeting to Summarise Cooperation
On 26 April 2024, HM The Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit, welcomed the outgoing Mayor of Gdynia Dr Wojciech Szczurek to the University to thank him for 26 years of cooperation.
Words of recognition for the Major’s contribution to the development of Gdynia and positive approach to initiatives undertaken by the University, which has been based in Gdynia for more than 90 years, were offered by the previous GMU Rectors Professor Piotr Jędrzejowicz, Professor Piotr Przybyłowski, and Professor Janusz Zarębski, as well as Deputy Rector for Cooperation and Development Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Science Dr Dariusz Barbucha, and Deputy Rector for Student Affairs Dr Mirosław Czechowski who also attended the meeting.
The meeting provided an opportunity to summarise many years of cooperation between the University and city's authorities, with the conclusion that Gdynia is undoubtedly the best location for the Maritime University.
