Dariusz Barbucha is an Associate Professor at Department of Information Systems at Gdynia Maritime University, Poland. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, computational intelligence, combinatorial optimization, metaheuristics, cooperative strategies for optimization, multi-agent systems and intelligent transportation systems.
He earned a MSc degree in Mathematics (Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of Gdansk University, Poland), PhD in Computer Science (Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Poznan University of Technology, Poland), and DSc (habilitation) in Computer Science (Faculty of Computing at Poznan University of Technology, Poland).
He authored and edited several research papers and books. He was a principal investigator and member of the teams of National Science Center and Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education research projects. He was involved in organization of several scientific conferences as a program chair, organizing chair, program committee member and special session organizer. He was a reviewer for major scientific journals like European Journal of Operational Research, Neurocomputing, Expert Systems with Applications, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Transactions on Computational Collective Intelligence, IEEE Systems Journal, Cybernetics and Systems, and others.
